Morris signature and address (Kelmscott House) on flyleaf. A note by Wilfrid Scawen Blunt indicates that he colored the woodcuts. Note by Cockerell in MS catalogue (2): “This copy of Gerarde inscribed ‘William Morris, Kelmscott House, Upper Mall, Hammersmith 1890’ was bought at the sale of part of Morris’s library in Dec 1898 by Wilfrid Scawen Blunt who coloured many of the woodcuts as he found the flowers and gave the book to me Christmas 1906.”
