Fuchs, Leonhart. De historia stirpium commentarii insignes. Basel: Insingrin, 1542.

Illustrated. Inscribed “to May Morris from William Morris May 3rd 1890.” Note by Morris on flyleaf: “I gave this book to my daughter on the occasion of my buying a fine copy in a very handsome contemporary binding. So that it was not much of a gift after all. WM.” (See first photo below.) Tipped in, on a sheet of 26 Queens Square, Bloomsbury, stationery, is a group of pencil drawings (presumably by Morris) of flowers and leaves. (See second photo below.)
