Augustine, Saint, Bishop of Hippo [Saint Augustinus]. De civitate dei. [Subiaco: Conradus Sweynheym and Arnoldus Pannartz], 12 June 1467.
Bound into the volume is a vellum leaf from the Ashendene Press Inferno, which uses a typeface based on that of this book. With a bibliographical note by Cockerell, at the end of which is written in another hand (probably Tomkinson’s): “Mr Cockerell tells me this book was greatly esteemed by Mr Morris— Mr Hornby has a fount of type copied from this & an example is here on vellum—”
